The Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) is the industry recognised and accepted route for operatives to gain a certificate of competence, needed to become a member of the Gas Safe Register. ACS covers all areas of gas work including domestic NG, LPG, commercial heating, commercial catering, commercial laundry, meter installation and emergency service provision. The scheme is overseen by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).
Joining the Gas Safe Register
To work with natural gas (NG) in a domestic or non-domestic (commercial) environment, candidates must obtain the Core ACS qualification CCN1(domestic), COCN1 (non-domestic) or CCCN1 (non-domestic catering) before they can proceed to the qualifications required to install or maintain individual appliances.
Access to all of the courses is not open to everyone. Candidates who wish to enroll for CCN1, COCN1 or CCCN1 must be able to demonstrate that they hold the relevant ACS qualifications, or have the relevant experience to be classified as either Category 1 or Category 2.
Candidates who are New to the Industry without the necessary qualifications can still arrange to work towards achieving the requirements necessary to gain entry to CCN1, COCN1 or CCCN1.
We recommend that all candidates make use of the training, however, candidates may opt to progress direct to the assessment stage without the training. The assessment stage is mandatory, as the candidates must be assessed on their knowledge and competence if they are to gain the recognised qualification.
Please contact GET to discuss your specific requirements and "special package prices" on Domestic, Non-Domestic and Catering that we can offer. Please note that all our pricing includes for VAT, course materials/fees and registration.
